Dr. GV Liabres is a diplomate of the Philippine Board of Neurological Surgery and a fellow of the Academy of Filipino Neurosurgeons. He completed general neurosurgery training in Makati Medical Center in 2018.

He was a visting Neurosurgery scholar in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of California San Francisco Parnassus USA in 2017. He also took a clinical and research fellowship in Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital from 2019-2020.

He manages general neurosurgical conditions such as brain and spine tumors, trauma, brain hemorrhages, hydrocephalus, and many others. He is fully subspecialized in open surgery for brain aneurysm and arteriovenous malformations (AVM) or any other vascular malformations of the central nervous system. He also performs brain vascular bypass procedures and carotid endarterectomy.
